burthday post

I can’t believe it! it’s our blogrthday and my manager hasn’t given me a day off to celebrate properly, write a fan letter to the Bavarian Illuminati (yep, did you think it was a coincidence that all those bands came from Germany? nah, it’s all a big conspiracy, half of them are aliens!) and the UN ( New World Order ! Black helicopters flying over corn fields , that’s where the sound at the beginning of Trans-Europe Express comes from) and, of course, the witches, which is what these Liars are, just listen to their last album, a staple of 20 Jazz Funk Greats, they gave one of the gigs of da year at Barcelona in Spring too.

Anyway today I wanted to dance like a robot and prepare some sauerkraut for breakfast and watch Shogun Assassin in slo-mo and maybe play Can backwards and then go to Nascent Nights in the Jazz Place in Brighton which is good, a club that plays Lightning Bolt at 1.30AM so you can dance to it like a deranged goblin but I don’t have time cos I have to run to work which is a bummer, so I’m just going to let you listen to this song by Liars, which is included in a special split for the Australian Tour of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and has a title straight off Tank Girl . It’s got some sort of weird dubby suicide thing going (them too!) with the helicopter over corn-fields sound at the end (yei, Liars mentioned that cereal in one of the songs off “They Were Wrong so We Drowned” , it’s all connected…) and it’s great, even more so by the standard of their b-sides (which tend to make less sense than Michel Houllebecq’s political stance)…so yeah, thanks to all the readers, fellow conspirators, keep working, extend the web and transmit the virus, capture brains and make them surrender to the power of distortion, dirt and the metronome, it’s all for a good cause, or haven’t you seen the news lately?

Ah, and fuck the country side alliance!

Cheers, going now, i’m late so i guess I’ll have to ride my broom…
