20 Jazz Funk Greats Night! Fun! Chainsaws!

Featuring:

We not men we are 20 Jazz Funk Greats.

Using the name of something cool to appear cool ourselves. (association, implication)

It’s not Jazz Funk it’s not Great and there are not 20 of us.

Naughty school boy humour from Throbbing Gristle.

Throbbing Gristle – Something came over me

Also… minimal mystery song with a storyline that could have been written by Dan Clowes, it runs frantically from Neu! to the Knack and comes back with an amazing finale that sounds like a big robot breaking things with a stick or maybe a metal pipe, from one of those weird bands that led us to start this facetious fraudulent thing in the first place, they can borrow my body anytime they want as long as they don’t make it do the limbo or snowboard.

Need New Body- Popfest

Also listen to the jolly fellers at Epitonic, such capers!

Tomorrow night (or tonight), thats the Friday 19th…

At the Penthouse in Brighton.

Juan and Stuart and Special Guest Verity from Miss

Pain will be all cum over by the likes of :

Sonic Youth, Wolf Eyes, Big Black, Can, Kraftwerk,

Neu!, Mount Eerie, Add (n) to (x), Boredoms, Fly Pan

Am, Oneida, Les Georges Leningrad, Shellac,

Tussle, The Shaggs, Lightning Bolt, Make Up, Throbbing

Gristle, The Velvet Underground, The Fall, Electro

Putas, OOIOO, The Hunches, Crass, Glass Candy, Flux

Information Sciences, Liars, The Locust, BBC

Radiophonic Workshop, Pere Ubu, Arab on

Radar, Deerhoof, Glenn Branca, The Unicorns,

Goblin, Crime, Death From Above 1979, Mu, Selfish

C*nt, SSION, The F*ck*ng Champs, Richard Hell &

Voidoids, Sir Alice, Stazi, Pink Grease, Whitey,

The Knife, Big Stick, Devo, B.E.F., King Crimson,

Ed Laliq, Tokyo Windbag, Black Strobe, Royal

Trux, Mocky, !!!, Harry Nillson and other jazz

funk greats (and Shimmy Shimmy Ya by ODB)

Since the music is rubbish drinks are only 2 a

pint to help you get drunk enough to shout what is

that horrible noise? was it white and sticky? I

rather liked it! (and try and dance badly to Neu!)

Stuart can discuss lexical tokenisers, depth

limited search in prolog(at a basic level), why i

look like prince in my picture, analysis of matrix

verses list representations running times in a

search space (non specific, but you know its gonna

be graph like) , and the usual stuff about liquid

sky, Bruce, Brian (both) and cat care, until he

drinks three pints, then it’s all about heavy metal.

Verity can discuss the history of analogue machine

music, and is going to be playing some of it. She

actually gets more lucid after a tipple or two.

Juan can discuss anything if you get him drunk

enough, but i find him best on the open source

debate, bad movies, second hand clothes and noise.

(Juan would like to add that he always supports

the underdog and therefore prefers Y-Wings over

X-Wings…ride an Y-Wing, they didn’t shoot a

single Tie Fighter in the whole Star Wars

(first, that is second, and only) trilogy. Dig

the orange tracksuits too…

If you are not there i want a letter from a parent

or guardian, explaining why, and next time you

have to do it in your under-ware.

Keep Warm in Winter.

(Maurice Fulton and Dexter are at Sabbath at the

Ocean Rooms after. )

  1. I would totally go to this if I were in Brighton, which I am soooo not. Funny about all the ejaculatory references: I DJ somewhat similar music in Portland, OR under the name CUM LAZER. Go fig.

  2. Sorry Matt, must have left comment while we were still editing the post. Listen to the song, and it all sort of makes sense (in as much as me and Juan do).
