Sallow Faced Hoods Blast Off Into Science!

Crash Course In Science - Cardboard Lamb
Bit confused about the lyrical meaning behind this track. Luckily Crash Course in Science were nice enough to provide us with a video which helps explain it in much clearer terms than I could.
I’ll name that song in 10 say those of you who are trying to keep your edge. This sits in a compilation called music for old people cos Crash Course in Science must be old by now.
Science based drum machine patterns are our favourite kind. With its neat dinkey hiss and drone noise Cardboard Lamb is actually a deceptively pop record, which isn’t bad for a science experiment is it?
Ah….the miracle of science.

Crossover got Mount Sims in to produce Cryptic And Dire Sallow Faced Hoods Blast Off Into Oblivion and Carlo Pennisi from xxjfg’s uber heroes Goblin in to play on all the really scary tracks (check Avatar).
Apples On a Stick is the Renegade Soundwave classic Cocaine Sex sung by your psychopathic ex-girlfriend/stalker, The Flying Lizards chewing the inside of their face off with Plastique De Reve on the walk of shame.
Like all Electroclash bands just because Crossover play what sounds like dance music it doesn’t mean they are fans of dance music. They might be, but I recon they are just fashion goths at heart.
Was it was Matt Wright who said the people who made Electroclash did it just to piss off dance music fans. That’s such a great idea, immerse yourself entirely in something you hate and then start doing it really awfully just to piss off those who genuinely like it!
Eventually you will become assimilated into the amorphous mass of mainstream as they leach ideas from you until your own individuality has been replicated and you now sound boring and dated.
Crossover initially dip into the veins of Malaria!, Tuxedomoon and many other Serie Noire artists, which is probably why New Deutsch (agin Crossover sound influenced by this) compiler, freak collector and much featured on this blog man DJ Hell was drawn by their vampire stare to sign Crossover to Gigolo.
Cryptic And Dire Sallow Faced Hoods Blast Off Into Oblivion is played out by these demi goth models from the same school as A.R.E. Weapons, but where A.R.E. Weapons took the crack, smack and watched The Warriors Crossover got zoned out and watched Susperia before someone left them a 303.
xxjfg is still on holiday.
This is the second postcard and goes out to everyone suffering after a long weekend, be it in Brighton or Barcelona.
Have some fresh fruit and vege and drink lots of water.
Stroke a cat and go swimming.

crap guys, i am so blushing right now! first the shout out re: my electroclash comments, then the playing of clap amp in your mix. that is so awesome.
yeah, i said that bit about electroclash. any broad statement like that is inherently bullshit but i think i might not be completely talking out of my ass. another part of it might be an attempt at pissing off the rock/indie kids by playing dance music. definitely i think confrontation is part of it, which is part of what makes it such fun music. i like this crossover track, which actually doesn’t feel like it plays into that confrontational/hate mode at all, seems more just funky and chill.
ok, keep being wonderful.
ps: i got some rad electro mp3s here.

Hey Matt, its hardley a mix.
Juan does some experiment with Suicide vocals over NWA and when i get drunk i try and play Spacemen 3 at the same time as acid house, which sort of sounds like Throbing Gristle if you ride the fader.
Mostley it tends to be one record after the other and sometimes the fade in/outs kinda work and we don’t get a silence.
Be sure and let us have more Clap Amp as and when, no PRS i’m afraid though.

Performing rights society,
it means you get money when your tracks are played on tv,radio, in clubs you know…
Main way to make cash, espacially if you get on an advert!

Psssh, we are so not anywhere near caring about that. Anything that lets people hear it is radness times three.
