shake those geometriks

Hey! Why hadn’t anyone told me about this band??

They are called Antifamily and this song is in their self titled EP released last year by Difficult Fun which is the name of a Slits song.

Antifamily- Staring at a Point

It’s got it all!!

offish postpunkgirl vocals!!

blambapblamblam monster Metronomicon beats!!

Nicely recorded dumdumdum obsessive badblackass dubby gummy bass!!

Moronic savant bipbipbip bip blink-cos-you-dig-it keyboard! !

Random industrial stereosound crashcrashcrash noises!!

Can’t stop shaking my head, I have listened to this song 10 times in a row and the point has become a line yehyeh. You doo right kids.

Antifamily are also featured in Difficult Fun’s Game & Errancy lovely compilation, go and buy it (While you are at it check out Asja Auf Capri who have a similar vibe going and are fucking awesome)

If you don’t the french one man band army King Automatic will come and hit you on the side of the head: Now, really, I wanted to tell you this, James Murphy was right…

…all the robots are in the garage…

King Automatic- The Model

Buy Automatic Ray, the record this comes from, at Voodoo Rythm.

Was gonna link that track but it’d be rude, plus it’s a little wee compressed and you don’t want this stuff sounding rougher than it already is.

Now I’m off to play ping pong with my dog Julius.

On friday the 29th the 20 JFG will be doing the Kenosha Kid at Messing Around in the Sussex Arts Club in Brighton 10-12. You are well advised to come too.

James, who organises it, has also started a record label, Hi Class, from which you will be hearing soon. We had a sneak preview of their first compilation and it’s sweeet.
