Sun Song

Another one that went past us on its day and fuck it’s good!!! This song should be played in any club I attend or I’m gonna start wasting people seen?

Caesar’s column is our favourite track by Oneida and one of our favourite tracks ever (actually if anyone has the White Pants mix or the liars remix, for that matter included in the 12” in digital version please let us know, we have the single in vinyl format but not the transfer technology to put those tracks in our personal stereo players) because it has the drumsss and the discipline of a batallion of prussian krautrockers swinging chrome battleaxes and a creeping mesozoic bassline and Damo-as-a-stoner chanting and so much shit going on I am getting real excited just thinking about it.

Anyway, if Oneida were hit by a a digitalisation ray like that one that turns vinyl grooves into 01010101010101001100 and transferred to some parallel tron universe they would sound like Shy Child do in this track. You can almost see the slim anime robots hitting their drum pads in binary paroxism, bringing out a Silver Apples Oscillating drone that makes us weak in the knees and funny in the eyes, sucking vibrations off their Bauhaus synths and spitting them as burning deathrays to a crowd of pogoing stormtroopers while a Posix compliant sun rises in the horizon.

Shy Child- Sunshine

The rest of ‘One with the Sun’, the album this comes from is similarly great, a bit like a beefed up electropsychedelic version of Clor mets the Apes or something, come on, man, buy it and join the particle accelerator party, it’s more fun to compute.
