NYE 2006 20JFG party

(we are posting this with some time so you have time to come…)

Welcome to our party, is gonna be fast and dirty and everyone is going to have such a good time you should give us a prize or at least a sweet kiss. You know how sometimes everyone tries so hard to have fun at New Years Eve it ends up being a bit shit?? not here kiddo. No, this is the real deal, we have even ‘written’ a song for the event, heh. Takes this as a lil tribute to one of those tunes we have danced a lot this year. We have also travelled to the future and taken photos of the bands playing at our party*.

Genders are playing at our house, our house
We’ll show you the ropes, kid, show you the ropes
Got a bus and a trailer at our house, our house
We’ll show you the ropes kid, show you the ropes
We bought fifteen hundred cases for our house, our house
All the furniture is in the garage (not the cats, mind)
Well Genders are playing at our house, our house
You got to set them up kid, set them up

DODGY 20JFG STYLE FADE IN

Genders- Slip into the Nightcrawlers Club

(this is the mysterious and sexy kind of track everyone should play each time yr suave funkgreatnerds come stumbling into da club, Genders are one of those up and coming bands that have us very excited, a bit like early PIL meets early Cabaret Voltaire, or Chromatics vs Excepter, or something good and warm and wet and wanting to be free, this track is included in the ace ‘There’s Something in the Treats’ maxi they released earlier this year in tigerbeat6, a perfect moody bitch to enter into our own lil’ NYE dance party.

They also put out a beautiful screen printed 12” called Tenderswarms in Ypsilanti Records of which 1FG is happy and proud owner (can’t find a link for that, soz))

OK BACK TO THE SINGING

Well everybody’s lined up in our house, our house
And Tina and Carri are working the door
Got John’s PA in our house, our house
All the vampires descend from the bus
There’s a freak out brewing in our house, our house
In the basement
‘Cause the Mae Shi n Mean Reds are playing at our house, our house
You got to set them up kid, set them up

GOT ‘EM SET UP, ONE TWO THREE THUNDERNINJAS ARE GO!

Mae Shi- Heartbeeps 2

Or a Suicide 33 played at 45 with Ian Svenonius nephew ranting on top, we love the Mae Shi a lot and we’re so happy and proud to have them playing at our house, our house. This track is included in the Do not Ignore the Potential split with Rapider than Horsepower to be released in 2006 in Strictly Amateur Films, released in an earlier version in 2005 in Narshardaa this track seems to be the continuation of the supershort title track of an ep released in 2005 by 5rc, this is a band building up a lil’ evolutionary mythology, it’s survival of the weirdest, Dr. Thompson observes smiling from his black candy coloured cloud.

(while you’re on it go and check their synthlatin remix of Que Onda Guero by Beck, up at the mighty Music for Robots, cos it kicks ass)

Mean Reds have regretfully split up but that doesn’t mean the party is over, actaully they’re playing at our house, our house, they were one of those all over the place bands, and all over the place not as a way of saying ‘eclectic’ without sounding like a twat, or wacky, which is something we dig anyway, but all over the place with the steel eyes of a ninja about to waste its unsuspecting victim, just need to choose the tool, or the clenched jaw of Charles Bukowski approaching that lady at the end of the bar, just need a pickup line, a bit of a Make Up BLAM! Kraftwerk BLAM! Locust plague KA POW Blow up the Eiffel Tower BING! god we got Batman and Robin fighting the joker at our house, our house.

Mean Reds- Octopus Too

This is from their excellent ‘Some Sort of Adventure Through History’

NOW SING SOME MO

You got to set ‘em up, ooh ooh yeah (x2)
You got the set them up, set them up

And never, never let them go
No never, never, never let them go
Never, never, never let them go
Let them go
Downtown

(Talking about our readers here)

(the DJ wacks the turntable and the needle goes back back, tis an encore)

Well everybody’s lined up in our house, our house
And Tina and Carri are working the door
Got John’s PA in our house, our house
All the robots descend from the bus
There’s a freak out brewing in our house, our house
In the basement
‘Cause Kraftwerk are playing at our house, our house
You got to set them up kid, set them up

Kraftwerk- Numbers (live)

And as you would expect the 20JFG party ends with a bang from the surprise guests, Metallica (will they sue us for linking them??) covering Kraftwerk? The best live non live album ever? the beginning of a career as mathematicians? the number is 2006, who cares when the electro beat wacks you in the face unscrewing your head from the neckpipe, fireworks fly from the wiring, it’s 2006 people, stay here, you don’t need to leave home, although it’s not healthy to keep a social life purely based on computer mediated commBZRRRRRRRRRRRR

(Had to switch ‘im off)

We’d like to thank all the readers, people who leave comments, family, friends, cats, fellow intrepid promoters, bloggers and party throwers, everyone who’s thought we could DJ and offered us a gig (we’re learning), everyone who has played records with us (Do gang, total takeover) and above all the people who has made, engineered, produced, underproduced, released, distributed and played awesome music that keeps us excited n wired, take care, we love you!

* We might have made the whole party thing up, it’s all about virtuality and subjectiveness. We are inviting you to an aural party and stuff. Aw c’mon.
