People! People! Sorry for leaving you in the wilderness for such a long time but we’ve been stoopid busy, went to London to see Liars blow up the Luminaire in the best gig 1 has seen this year (we’ll bring you some bits of the new album later this week, fingers crossed), Celebration were aces too, then we played records at Artschool Dropouts, to which Fujiya and Miyagi brought the spoon and Pro-Forma the spike, all very enjoyable, then the Do with japanese nutters Zuinosin doing the power rangers with fuzz pedals thing, bang!, after which 1 went to Portugal to play rock and roll records at Cherry Bomb with Joao Kitten from the mighty X-Wife, fun and games, S2 brought the jazzfunk to Franz Ferdinand’s post gig party (and the launch of NEW! records) at Kings X, big up to Paul, Rory and Steve, oh yes. So we hope you understand. But now we’re back forever, yours, you know, forever.
And we’ve got some music, check did out.

First, there’s the b-side on the self-titled 7′ that Curse of the Birthmark released earlier this year on 333 recordings, which is a bit like early Liars fighting the Locust like Christopher Lambert and that cool russian guy in Highlanders, all spazzy rythms and guitars that don’t just scratch the skin, they draw blood and pieces of your bloated intestines, man, that looks bad, you need to eat more yoghurt.
Curse of the Birthmark- Call yer Lawyer
You also need to get their You’re Late, their last 12”, because it’s quite awesome.

Then there’s Beautiful Skin, who have released one of these all over the place in the best possible way albums of year in our beloved GSL. It is called ‘Everything, all this and more’ and is a journey through the constellations of ambient, kraut, drone, post punk and electro-pop where the whole is more than the sum of the parts, think Cursor Miner, think Mahjongg, think Need New Body, and, in the track we’re posting today, think lots of NEU! and start salivating. I mean, I better shut up and let you enjoy the vistas from the prog-electro-pop lunar motorik elevator…
As for fun activities, tonight we’ll be seeing Quintron and Miss Pussycat doing their thing at the Sussex Arts Club, wednesday we can’t recommend enough fucken Hella at the Engine Rooms, they’ve released one of the tracks of the year as you will know if you read this blog…
Hella – Madonna Approaches R&B Blonde Wreckages
…and it’s going to be a total blast, be at the Engine Rooms from 7 (early gig) or be ashamed and die.
Now we’re off, back soon folks.
p.s. we will start answering back all those emails soon too.
Epilogue -This post is tagged with aces b side birthmark blow up cherry bomb dropouts fingers crossed franz ferdinand fujiya and miyagi fuzz gig hope you understand kings x kraut launch luminaire motorik music check nutters power rangers pro forma prog
