Wheras boys can grow funny little beards and rock the wizard look or go full Horrors and look like girls wanting to be goth boys with deliberately slap-dash make up, its really down to the fairer sex to go full schizo-gonzo on our collective ass. Check out Dandi Wind for example, a deranged feral performance artist who just happens to also make killer spazz-electro, gurning and squealing her way across stage dressed head to toe in Rave - hence the admiration. Dandi Wind - Umbilical Noose

‘Umbilical Noose’ whirls around like some giant hypnotic shimmering cobra with Indian licks and sprays of garish pink and green poison. Synth lines chop in and out and Dandi calls up the inner monster and releases it in vocal form.

I’m not really understanding much the comparisons to Bjork really, I mean Bjork is way too delicate to be compared to hyperactive lycra mentalist Dandi anyway. Sure Bjork has produced some madcap fidget-pop in the past, but nothing that really seems similar. Dandi Wind is as much about visuals as she is sound, so…

Planningtorock PTR whatever you call her is alligned with the Dandi Winds of this world too. She’s like a deviant Kate Bush caterwalling whilst dressed as various objects, all high drama vocals and (body)organ-grinding nightmare strings and piano. ‘When Are You Gonna Start’ is the final track on the new PTR album ‘Have It All’. Listen, as the doom strings herald an insessent question from PTR that the raspy-throated evil(er) alter ego PTR then answers through gritted teeth. Moog reverbs in and killer toys plink-plonk away on xylophones made of human bones.
