Pookie and I have just this very nite witnessed Rother & Moebius blast out some at Komedia (actually it was equal parts squiglly Neu Rave, Miami Vice, holiday TV program theme tunes and actual Neu!) to a basement of bearded folk who kept talking loudly (hello? legends in front of you playing music, hello? Shuttup). Max Tundra cleverly pre-empts the Neu-Rave fiasco/renaissance by a certain number of years (he made this aged 16) and now Tomlab release it cos KLF are cool again!

Less is more, cos where the original KLF olde worldy rave anffum was all doom and drama, Max Tundra removes all that and utilizes Casio blips, blops and bleeps and kids musical toys for a more random affair. The original vocals occasionally trip in like a mistake here and there but its really all about the simplification of The KLF’s more serious tracks. I’m sure thats what he was thinking at the age of 16, yep.

With Pretty Girls Make Raves Kid 606 became Green Velvet’s lieutenant in 20 jazz Funk Greats techo inferno, yeh you know, that place south of the kosmische opium beach where pixelated synth flames forever burn dear readers, and dayglo chrome dragonflies pierce your twitching body with fiery bursts of binary ricochet.

Well, with his remix of Drop the Lime’s Shaken, included in the rather mindblowing refixed 12” released by Tigerbeat6 he’s gone for the top.
