the animals will inherit the stars

We lowly creatures at 20JFG adore anything Emperor Machine-like, and they never fail to impress with remixes of artists dodgy or brilliant (does not matter either way):
Markus Kienzl - Dundy Lion (Version Emperor Machine)
‘Dundy Lion’ comes from Klein Records (the proud lion image beats the faceless 12″ cover anyday), and features a Mars jungle expedition soundtrack by The Emperor Machine that pretty much ticks all the boxes under Space Disco that 20JFG kids need in order to get down. The track judders into being with Mars jungle-insect sounds and haphazard drum rolls, and occasionally we get snippets of a cyber Jamaican samurai hacking through the undergrowth. All the hallmark Emperor Machine remix sounds are here, dying planets, melting satellites and a general ‘Tales Of The Trigan Empire’ vibe.
DC Reordings (home of White Light Circus, Padded Cell and Emperor Machine) have a brand spanking new compilation out too called ‘Death Before Distemper’. More on this laters though.

I don’t think a week goes by without some sort of Lindstrom orientated 12″/EP/LP/white label coming out, serious. He has to be one of the most prolific producers around, remixing everyone. Its a good thing he’s not shit then cos that would totally suck in a most bogus way if he was.
Lindstrom and Prins Thomas - Tempo Tempo
This track comes from an impending 12″ featuring alternate and live tracks from the last Lindstrom & Prins Thomas LP. Its all hand claps, bass thumps and even an acoustic guitar that doesn’t make me cringe which is what usually happens. It features a hot little echoed bleep loop too that stretches the whole breadth of the track. Someone seems to vomit at the end, maybe my feelings on acoustic guitars is shared?
(The image is not that of the 12″, its just a cutesy squirrel from the ‘Mighty Girl’ 12″ that compliments the Lion well.)
