The NO. 4 / Diamonds. Rubies. Saphires. Crystals.
We are today in a pretty mood, our hearts are filled with warmth and our heads with glitter and spangles. We do not feel the cold of the great winds screeching in from the seas in our fair land of Brightonia, as the bands and artists that we hold dear are making such great aural gems that nothing else seems to matter. Look, huskies, awwww…

Ok so, erm, Husky Rescue are not exactly, y’know…in our playlists, but thats where Master Rory Phillips comes in and changes it all with a sweet instrumental.
Husky Rescue - Nightless Night (Rory Phillips Remix)
Mr Phillips strips the vocals and MOR geetars and delivers a neat mix thats equal parts twinkle and drum-pound. A malevolent little bass jitter flickers under the aurora borreallis synth echoes and the drums make for dancing. Its like if Eskimos came and DJed at your local disco, the records they would spin would mostly resemble this.
For that hoodoo-voodoo type of jig, check the Emperor Machine remix of ‘Diamonds In The Sky’ which is also hot - go buy the vinyl cos you know it makes sense - but this remains unreleased for now.

From one xxjfg hero to another, Chromatics have caught the remix bug with Antena’s ‘On The Boat’ from the ‘Camino Del Sol’ LP.
Antena - On The Boat (Chromatics Remix)
Removed by request, but you can hear it on the Chromatics myspace page.
In much the same way as Mirage edited ‘Last Nite A DJ Saved My Life’ into an ice-encased Pluto-sent disco shimmer, Chromatics give the track a skeletal percussive backbone of tom-tom drums, piano and oriental glockenspiel thumps. Add the swathes of dark blue Argento funk and ‘On The Boat’ is transformed into a sister track to Chromatics own ‘In The City’.
Different variant versions appear on the upcoming 12″ from Permanent Vacation. There is also a remix 12″ of ‘Camino Del Sol’ by Joakim and Todd Terje.

Glass Candy cover Kraftwerk! The world is complete! Its all downhill from this point on! No not really.
Ida No is the dictionary definition of Chanteus, none of this Alison Goldfrapp business will phase her, she is an Amazonian robot queen from 2O12, she don’t give a fuck mate, she will laser-kiLL those pretenders to gibbering messes yep.
‘Computer’ (can’t get no love?) is a trans-planetary-express of a track with Ida’s soft as newborn kittens purrings layered across the echoes. Wait, it seems wrong and disrespectful to just say echo, no, a sound is made then it immediately copies itself and twinkles back to you to a quick fade, like a teasing Moog alluring you to its silicon chip Harem. Yeah, thats what this sounds like, a Moog’s mating call.

Twinkling in a different way, in the way that loud violent music can smack you in the face make you bleed, the lights shine off of your spilt blood, are Twin Crystals.
An offshot of Channels 3×4 (they are keyboardist Jesse’s side project), that same evil killer-organ growl spikes throughout but theres guitars too that sound totally pissed off angry from strangulation.
Theres a passing resemblance to our good friends Husbands too (we will bring you them soon I think), but this is a shambles in a good way, like listening to stuff reflected off of broken glass as it flies at your face.

OUR DISCO IS BACK!
If you are not going to The Do (why?), then there really is no other dancefloor to hit this weekend. Save for the French Rave and the night some of xxjfg lizard-geeks killed you with noise at its all been quiet on the Our Disco front, but now they are back with a monthly (for now) party at Sub Club (which judging by the map was my old student union, wtf!?)
Friday 1st December
Sub Club (map on the site)
Resident DJs, Den, Glyn & Nadia (Rory touring with Whitey)
Simian Mobile Disco
JD Twitch
Don’t be fascists and GO!
