Chromatics have been stepping up their game in the past few weeks, rumblings of new music posted on the myspace page sending out ripples of sound across the internet. These ripples reverberate off of us and we share the dark egyptian-disco love. They also are featured in the latest edition of Dazed & Confused too. Big in 2OO7? Yeah, but not in a shit way.
Chromatics – Killing Spree (Demo)
Not so much Chromatics more the sound inside of Johnny Jewel’s brain, ‘Killing Spree’ is a delicate synthesiser piece that should have played out over the conclusion to the remake of ‘Assault On Precint 13′ but didn’t because the remake was whack. This instrumental depiction of crystalline rain dusting across polar ice-caps is maybe a sneaky peak at the beginnings of a new song that could make “Shining Violence”, but we will not know until (fingers crossed) summertime.
Chromatics – Hands In The Dark (2OO7)
This particular version of the Dark Day “classic”, ‘Hands In The Dark’, features new female vocalist Ruth, first heard on the Cerrone soopa-troopa vs Donna Summer slow-mo robot army track ‘In The City’. Here, Ruth rocks the same alien princess possessing the reanimated (and thus immortal) corpse of Nico quality of vocals that Ida No slays us with evertime a new track is added to their player.
A note on the impending 20JFG designed Chromatics website:
- Yes, we are actually doing it, we have been well busy, hence the delay
- There will be mp3′s and galleries galore
- A detailed and full discography will be present
- Its not finished yet, but will look well hot
