Across Solar Fields

OK now, ranting and raving is fine as we are a blog and that’s our perogative and 20 Jazz Funk Greats spreads the love unlimited thick and generous for those that are deserving of such stuffs. We have obsessions with certain artists and purveyors of grand music and repetition is the key to success.
We are going to talk about Lindstrøm again.
Lindstrøm’s teaming with Solale for ‘Music (In My Mind)’ (on the “Its A Feedelity Affair” album) was a match made in alternate-Earth’s heaven and thank those alternate Egyptian gods that they have seen fit to work together again.
‘Lets Practice’ was a disco blueprint for the new age, a chrome and gold plated laser blaster firing beams to rival that great discotheqa lamentation, ‘I Feel Love’. But now this regal alien duo are re-writing the Moroder legacy once again with this Vangelis cover.
Lindstrøm & Solale – Let It Happen (12″ Vocal Mix)
In the same way that ‘Lets Practice’ surrounded you with warm metallic L-O-V-E love, this track oscillates straight to your little heart, bursting it with intricate spiralling webs of synthesised snowflakes and arpegiated blizzard storms of sub-zero bass tones. Solale is an Ice Queen from a galaxy far, far away who has honed her sophistication by appearing in Vogue Magazine and recoding vocals at home in her downtown NY loft conversion while permanently smoking a cocktail cigarette (we guess). Lindstrøm acts as a galactic space pirate hunched over his cybernetic church organ ripping out the exoskeleton of ‘You’ve Got The Love’ and incorporating it into the mix, blasting out shards of cataclysmic electricity across the globe to the beat. What sweet music they make together.

But now a new challenger enters this solar abyss of sound and synthesised vision, in the form of the new born star in the DC Recordings cosmos, Clause Four. Hear his battle cry:
Whats this? Have Crystal Castles been smoking weed and chilled out a little, flicking the switch to SLOW on their giant Gameboy jukeboxes? Who predicted that 8-Bit would fly under the radar and creep slowly into Cosmic airspace? Not us.
‘Version #2′ is a scout ship paving the way for the command unit that appears on the ‘Blue On Blue’ 12″. Its a minimal super nintendo message from the stars, requesting world peace through the continued playing of Super Mario and Tetris while immersed in magnetic fields.
It sounds nice when you stare at this image too:
