When songs attack pt. II
STUART- Movement! Signal’s clean.
He pans the scanner. Stops. The range display reads out, counting down.
STUART- Range twenty meters.
STEVEN (to Juan)- Seal the door.
Juan picks up a hand-welder and moves to comply.
STUART: Seventeen meters.
SCOTT: Let’s get these things lit.
He hands one flamethrower to Steven and begins priming the other himself. It lights with a muffled POP. Steven’s lights a moment later. Sparks shower around Juan as he begins welding the door. Stuart’s tracker is beeping like mad now, as fast as their hearts.
STEVEN:They learned. They cut the power and avoided the guns. They must have found another way in, something we missed.
SCOTT: We didn’t miss anything.
STUART: Fifteen meters.
STEVEN: I don’t know, an acid hole in a duct. Something under the floors, not on the plans. I don’t know!
He picks up Juan’s scanner and aims it the same direction as Stuart’s.
STUART: Twelve meters. Man, this is a big fucking signal. Ten meters.
STEVEN: They’re right on us. Juan, how you doing?
Juan is heedlessly showering himself with molten metal as he welds the door shut. Working like a demon.
STUART: Nine meters. Eight.
STEVEN: Can’t be. That’s inside the room!
STUART: It’s readin’ right. Look!
Steven fiddles with his tracker, adjusting the tuning.
SCOTT: Well you’re not reading it right!
STUART: Six meters. Five. What the fu –

Industrial noise critters Sightings are always a welcome visit inside 20JFG’s barricaded hut, we know they have come to shred our faces off and feed them to the mutant roaches, and we cherish them for it, their new Andrew W.K. produced album ‘Through the Panama’ in Load records is in our humble opinion their most accomplished to date, Oh God how they oscillate & pulse, create a portal straight into that alternative bad times dimension from whence phantasmagoric vibrations, the living rhythms of a white worm burrowing inside its rotten lair (liar?) and seductively warped melodies spill dirty yet pretty like TV on The Radio covering one of Goya’s latterday hallucinations, all executed with the murderous precision of a synchro swimmer drowning in a pool of blood.

We have already told you about Pre, who feature fierce Akiko from doom garage chimera Comanechi on vocal duties, they are affiliated with Merok and Lovepump United i.e. awesomeness both sides of the pond, and are releasing an album of twisted full on disembowellment spazzcore on Skin Graft, it goes by the name Epic Fits and it does what it says in the box, i.e. munch on razorblades and swallow kid, let all the blood trickle down and coagulate into a skull shaped blot at the bottom of your belly, to be vomited with utmost prejudice at the most suitable moment, as little Gage of ‘I chews people’s throats because I hates life’ fame used to say,
‘Oh oh’.
Pre- Scenes from a 1963 Los Angeles Love-in
More like a massacre yess, sledgehammer shamanic percussions and deadhead hippie chanting like there was a Bad Moon Rising or something climb up aztec pyramids in your nightmares to fetch the haemoglobinic trophy of a noise sacrifice, then rinse the place cos it’s a fucking mess.

We told you some time ago about the metamorphosis of new wave glam fiends King Cobra into dark angels of Death under the all-engulfing nightmarish shadow of mighty TWIN (myspace), well, this is what we were talking about, don’t stick in the grounds where the dead talk, maybe better move on to that place where the dead walk.
But what do they see?
Tower: or War, included in their split 7 with Mikaela’s Fiend starts preparing for that incoming Halloween when all bats will be released to feast on the frightened & bloated souls of the peoples of the High Society, what a beautiful blood dripping iron maiden of a song it is, inside its doom metal structure lies impaled a witch with bones covered in arcane symbols, spikes and prayers aren’t powerful enough to keep her from fulfilling her destiny, vermin approach the fateful instrument enter the twilight zone and die, their small lives the last ingredient for a spell which is a curse for those with a fear of God in their hearts, a blessing for those of a darker streak, say us, hence TWIN, we look forward to future excursions into the pits of Arallu from which they brought us this darken gem, hai.

And since this post has turned out rather morbid, in a clear acknowledgement of the inevitable truth that all paths terminate with an interview with the Grim Reaper, to which olden age, or maybe a xenomorph with a bad attitude will introduce us, we shall leave you with a hopeful note, a melody of transition and ascension and change, you were dead before arriving here kid, at the end of the day we all get back home, or don’t we?
Our main man DJ Rick has been singing the praises of mexican psyche fuzz stars Los Llamarada for a while, but I didn’t get them in the true ‘and thus my heart surrendered enthralled’ way I should until I listened to a live set you can find in the last half of this week’s Art for spastics show, now here you have the sound of true no-bullshit no-posturing wild eyed tribal psychedelia bringing together all that’s beautiful and savage and fierce and wise in rock and roll, or how some kids crashing and stomping and singing their hearts out in the corner of some basement summon from the blank void of silence a kernel of truth we can all glimpse and share and goes way back in time and perhaps explains why people started making music in the first place, this tune is from their ‘The Exploding Now’ LP in SS Records,
Los Llamarada- Breaking the Silence
Which is what life is about.
/off.

20jazzfunkgreats,
Would you mind re-posting a song that you had up over a year ago? In August 2006 you posted Om’s Assyrian Blood. They have a brand new album out, “Pigrimmage”, and it’s great - I would love to find that Assyrian Blood track since it was vinyl only and now out of print. PLEASE!!!!!!!!
Thanks
