Intense debate, or maybe just a few email exchanges during supposed work hours, was created in a cloud of confusion as to where this fearsome edit by In Flagranti originates from. Some though Abba cos of the fancy piano lines, but Stu came through with his knowledge of disco-era Rolling Stones, with elements of ‘Emotional Rescue’ and a clipping of ‘She’s A Rainbow’ too…

But lets listen with non-Stones-fan ears for a second, cos we are 20JFG and we like to talk bollocks about music rather than give you the facts (most of the time).

‘Emotional R’ is like In Flagranti donning Ghostbuster’s proton-packs and firing the streams of spectre-catching energy at the ghost of Barry White. This captured walrus of ectoplasmic love is then set to directing cars in the car park of a giant club in space. His hums out the tune in his trademark bass-ey tones while spacecruisers zip back and forth and stars twinkle brightly.

Cruising at 900 light years per second are SOS Band, speeding away from the Barry White/Car Park debacle, hot and bothered but tremendously high after the space club fun has been had.

‘Just Be Good To Me’ is always IMO one of those tracks that gets overlooked by most (much like ‘Why?’ by Carly Simon - kudos to Lindstrom for resurrecting it with his ‘Late Night Tales’ release). Its a shame cos its a really great example of how 8O’s music can be mainstream and cheesy but retain effortless amounts of brilliance and orgasmic effect in a disco situation.

This extended 12″ version shimmers like a pixellated image of nitetime New York, light from discoballs escaping from underground Brooklyn clubs, reflecting on skyscrapers and up into the clouded skies.

Legowelt’s bad-ass roman alter ego Gladio should have rightfully accompanied Athletic Automaton’s voyage through that glorious empire of the past in last week’s Odyssey of Savagery, alas, Goddess Fortune didn’t deem us worthy of the serendipitous occasion of listening to both tunes under the reign of the same Time-Emperor, so the second instalment of our savage adventures into violence, well-oiled muscles and fun helmets will take place now, let this vicious shard of pumping old skool Euro-acid become a wormhole into the Colosseum, a death hymn to listen right before you jump into blood drenched sands to bash some skulls or perhaps capture people with one of those fancy nets, and then pin them to the ground with a nasty trident like they were butterflies, such capers!
