Hey Ladies

Thee 20jazzfunkgreats myspace has started receiving a deluge of add requests from scantily dressed women with breasts bigger than our heads and strange coloured skin, probably a mutation brought forward by an excess of tanning lotion, it’s we guess exciting for some to see the prostitution industry getting on with the times and joining social networking platforms, but members of the profession would be well advised not to waste their time with 20jazzfunkgreats, we are nerds for whom sex is at best an obsolete programming language, or some guy who released a couple records in Tigerbeat6 back in the days, the only effusions we respond to are those of the SOUND, henceforth we’d rather get add requests from the following ladies than from big boobies Helga:

Influences: ESG, Gris Gris voodoo, Pulsallama, that bass-line is so deep even SKREAM would dig it, gumbo gypsy no wave

We think London’s finest Miss Ebony Bones has followed the example from that man in O Brother who made a deal with the devil in order to learn how to play the guitar, only she got the funk from Fiery Jack and was so fucking bad-ass in her dealing she even managed to keep her souls strong and handy, but don’t think the devil is losing out in the deal, he likes music like this to exist in the world, it makes the hips of his crew shake like crazy, and tempts those god fearing citizens who get close to the dancefloor, initiating them in a life of excess, sweat and debauchery which as you know if you have read the good book, eventually shall lead their souls to an eternity burning in the pit, if you have any doubts about what we’re saying just look into the chaotic abyss of relentless percussion that Ebony Bones’ debut 7” ‘We Know all About You’ is, this tune is the true heir of Panico’s frantic classic Transpiralo and we look forward to witness it destroying dancefloors everywhere on this 2008 which just got sweetly started, and also to be destroyed by it which is only right.

Ebony Bones- We Know All About You

10lec6.jpg

Influences: Crass, Melt Banana, Slits, boot punk & bastard funk, Jess can rock a badass session of booty bass too.

When they get going 10Lec6 achieve the same sort of exhilarating energy boost one finds in legendary old skool hardcore crews like Bad Brains, for example, plus bongos, in their new blink and its over album Counselling Orientation out in Fiat Lux you are slapped by all those vintage hits from their fantastic Troubleman Join Us 12, and some more, such as for example Lester Kro, which we are posting today. The whole thing sounds tinny as fuck and bound to blow up the dancefloor with the fierce energy of a pirokinetic baby throwing a nasty poltergeist tantrum, imagine being shoved right and left in the midst of a moshpit, knees on the verge of snapping everything spinning around you, retreat backwards only a step to be swiftly picked up in the air by Sonic the Hedgehog (Punk ROCK!), bounce in every corner of the room creating a blurry cobweb of pure movement, then it’s over, your spiky friend drops you in the exact moment the last note fades into silence, the only thing you can do now is throw up,

BLEURGH!

10Lec6- Lester Kro

  8. Out of which club? To be honest I haven’t really followed the career of Ms. Ebony Bones, does she have any skeletons in her closet? A few people do…
What matters to me is that ‘We Know All About You’ is a rather wicked tune…
    Cheers

  16. Well, that comparison was drawn from memory, but having listened through these a couple of times, there’s a similarity somewhere maybe. Something that made me think of it anyway. But you haven’t heard it? I find that so difficult to believe. You’ll like this :)

  17. Hi. The guy in O’ Brother that sells it soul to the Devil is actually based on a legend about Robert Johnson. It would have better matched your excellent writing to quote the original. Keep up the good worl.

  18. i’m confused, you mean it’s not based on when the Karate Kid sold his soul to Steve Vai???
