First things first -
20jfg needs you !
The idea:
20jfg have commissioned some remixes of an artist close to their heart, by other artists close to their heart. The results are pretty amazing we have to say. These remixes need some visuals – from you dear reader!
The deal:
It’s pretty simple. If you want to make a video for one of these remixes send us an email with linkys to some of your work!
We will provide you with the soundtrack, and watch you get into creative goodness with the visuals.
The winners:
Of course, everyone is a winner, but we will be putting the winning entries up on 20jfg, there could be a dvd release with the remix, we will give lifelong linkage and love * xx + goodie bags of non-virtual gifts.
The catch: We have no money, it’s a pretty fast turn around ;)
Cool, where do i sign up?think you can do it or know someone who can ? brill! send messages to coms@20jazzfunkgreats.co.uk b4 September the 6th. simple.
Competition time over boys and girls and others, now on with today’s tale -One morning your brave(ish) 20jfg writer and comrades went cycling off into the wilderness of the to see what they could see.Abandoning all worldly possessions except those they could fit into karrimor panniers the good companions set up camp near fields of wilderness and forest.
After a fine feast of charcoal scared produce and fire warmed red wine, darkness descended, the stars looked like they never do in our artificially light town skys. Into the copses with wine in one hand and ultrasonic bat translator in the other the friends danced.
The hunting sounds of many a Pipistrelle were observed with glee, but who else dwelt in the woods? Among the moog like calls and unidentified spirits the forest became a land for playful Heisei Tanuki Gassen Ponpoko and the children of Herne. As we ventured further the light of the starts became less guiding, less familiar stimulants became the focus of our curiosity.
He was a spirit who came from a planet, now extinct, brought to us on a lightning bolt, who had communed with Charon, the ferryman of the River Styx and Vodun priests. When he informed the world of his travels and even warned of Armageddon, he left the Earth, perhaps tiring of the corporeal and moving to the ethereal, and he sure knew how to party!
We drank of the spirit of Exuma throughout the night until the sun stretched its rays across the horizon, when we knew it was time to return to our reality guided by the voices of new wave of british heavy metal (NWOBHM) band Nazareth (yeh they are from Scotland).
Nazareth – Morning Dew original
But what’s that you say ? where is the disco today ? ok. Nazareth also did an “I was made for lovin’ you” vs zztop version of the Tim Rose heart breaker for the afterlife/party.
The morality of our tale? if you go down to the woods today you’re sure to get a big surprise, and keep on disco rockin’ in the free world kids!
