Devil’s remix pt2 – Teengirl Girl Fantasy & Mark Brown

Greetings Jazz Mutilators,

My name is Mark Brown and I’m a video and new media artist from
Baltimore. I want to thank 20 Jazz Funk Greats and Merok for putting
this project together, all the remixes are fantastic and it’s been
incredibly exciting to see what my peers in the video-dome are up to.
I created the video for hyper-talented Teen Girl Fantasy’s Basic
Sensation Dub remix of Telepathe’s Devil’s Trident. Let me share it
with you:

/////////////////////

I would also like to share a few songs by some of my friends from Baltimore:

The first is by Sixteen:

Try to imagine a sonic assault being waged upon the self-sur-veiled
YouTube unDead™ degenerate nation via twitter spell casters chanting
Tuvan riddims, jailbroken hearts, and geo-locative power-ups. You’re
definitely going to need a bigger antenna for your Zomes modem if you
want to survive the trance-punk uprising of 2077.

Sixteen – Ethics Gradient

The second is a new piece by the legendary Baltimore based techno
mystic CEX:

You’re at a party on the top floor of a neo-noise-cruster squatted sky
scraper in a post-industrial metropolis and someone just slipped some
yopo powder into your malt liquor energy beverage of choice, what do
you do?

Cex – Freq

Look out for full force floor-brooder A/V collaborations between
myself and Rjyan in early 2009.

The final song is from 20JFG alumni Thrust Lab off their recently released Wind Breaker EP (Out now on Creative
Capitalism
).

Thrust Lab are post-Casio drum and bass pebble pushers, heaven sent,
inscribing potions for euphoria and understanding ultimate reality
from the depths of your inner cloud factory, all night and every day.

Thrust Lab – Durkey

I’ll be going on tour with Thrust Lab around the east coast and parts
of the mid-western portions of the US in mid January doing live
visuals and hyper reinterpretations of Baltimore Bass anthems as Mark
Brown (sometimes known as DJ Mark Brown or Pyramoods).

you can see more of my work here: http://www.mcbrown.info

I’m also always looking for more video commissions and collaborations,
email me at mark@whamcity.com to get in touch.

///// END POST

Thank you for letting me temporarily interrupt the flow of cosmic
dissonant-disco wizards and trance-crunk enchantresses with my
post-singular metaphors and tongue nashers.

love it to pieces. I’ve no idea if it’s the compression or not but in my hungover mind the fringing on the abstract shapes makes me think of a 21st centuary Take On Me…in a good way.

    is ‘Sixteen’ Damon?

Gorgeous video Mark. The soft bleeds are beautiful and the colours far more rich and varied than your average neon dominated dance affair. If you’re ever after more material to provide visuals for, my group the ribbon would be definitely keen.
