We are totally delighted to feature another post decorated with/inspired by the most excellent & twisted excretions from the brilliant imagination of one Mr. Chris Pell, whose deft hand annotates the margins of a decadent italo party truthful & merciless. Hallucinatory visions for an out-there synthetic apocalypses, we love love love.
Cyber People! Pastel coloured explosion in a pink jell-o discotheque where god forbid straight lines least the luscious spirits which therein lie escape to corrupt the dimensions outside with their sensuous dancing, this one has got it all, effervescent syncopated kick-off, artificial conga sounds, emotional synthesis and a bassline that creaks alluring like the back-door to heaven, cryptic vocals sung in the language from Radius and there we go again, if you don’t enjoy the call and response between an army of cybernetic bitches and nino the amphetamine machine halfway through then you are a bore sir. This is a perfect exponent of hedonistic/nihilistic italo glory nonsense and we melt into pudding every time we listen to it.
We first heard Massimo Barsotti’s cover of Led Zep’s Whole Lotta Love at Crazy Rhythms’ glorious RVNG mix a few years back. This pumped up/stripped down version rocks even more, mostly thanks to that arpeggiated synth which tinkles our spine like a razorblade dipped on concentrated pheromone juice, bringing to mind stroboscopic reveries of Jackon & his Computer Band driving a 4×4 around a discotheque full of air guitaring EBM gaylords, . This is what the future sounded like in the past friends, italo wizards surfing on the neon waves of the proto-house revolution.

How come most of the mp3s posted on 20jfg for the past months are all low bitrate quality (128kbps)? I used to download everything over here and keep it on constant rotation but as of late I find myself deleting many of the tracks because they sound awful on headphones at this bitrate.
