‘Dour post-punk music with a german mock accent which I guess isn’t mock after all because the singer is actually German’ is the genius comment that DJ Rick had to make about Siltbreeze’s finest, Teenage Panzerkorps. Theirs is one of those rackets we get understandably excited about, being as we are obsessives of Chrome and partial to the Fall when they get down to business.  Ruffneck insect blues with guitars wailing in the background like muses being strangled with barbed wire is where it’s at, and this outfit deliver that in spades.

We surrender rapturously to the low frequency onslaught from High Castle, a  vertebrae-injury friendly supergroup hailing from SF. ‘We Can’t Dance with Jesus’ has been pumped with so much fuzz that stepping inside its zone of nasty feels like being nailed to the front of a custom-made cholo dragster jacked by a bunch of cranked-up noise gremlins and deployed to ultimate effects in the busy arcades of a suburban shopping mall while Satan’s Cheerleaders do pirouettes on the sides. It’s kind of pop like that, you know.

And that’s it for today folks, we leave you with Reading Rainbow, an awesome duo hailing from Philly who, in ‘Feral Kids’ manage to bring together Love is All’s effervescent C-86 joy and Vivian Girls’ reminiscent DIY garage for explosively sloppy dancefloor effect. It has snowed loads this night and all of the town is covered in white, a chaotic army in garish outfits has come out from its lair like a deranged horde of midget Finnish trolls, watch them sledge  down the hills crashing, collapsing and screaming with the same joie de vivre that this tune evokes.
