One reissue is never enough, especially if its for a minor classic of the Italo renaissance – “Volcano” by Egotrya. The original is all levitational spiralling through corkscrew caverns and out into the great beyond of the heavens, yeah!, that’s good of course but the People in the Sky reissue comes with the added bonus of a treatment by John Daly who traps the track in an echo chamber and records the resulting repetitious bursts.

The Revolving Eyes heads to the same video rental store mentioned in the post below, taking inspiration from the cheap and trashy images to produce the Kalashnikov rave of the “10000 Light Years Disco Mix”, complete with sonic cathedral of synth-death power ballad robotix jams, further assisted by a neon Casio keytar solo pogoing back and forth along the metaphorical stage like Eddie Van Halen if he’d of been one of the sassy underwear models/singers from Vanity 6.

A new dawn breaks apart the clouds hanging heavy above Balears, Spain, illuminating with iridescent orange – but no Sun rises, instead a shining 12″ glides up from the horizon with the brilliant white title “Messalina” emblazoned across its label. Along with the batch of Glossy records, the Messalina team are keeping edits on the good side of the credibility line:

Lucci Capri – Take Me To Mudbone

Add the Mexican sunrise noodlings of Santana to the trapped in a crystal spinning in infinite nothing of the acappella from True Faith’s rave classique, “Take Me Away”, and you have some choice prog-disco from the 25th Century where humans are just wisps of burning light spinning in a coil of Latin rhythm and Italo laser breaks. A future to look forward to for sure.
