Lightning Bolts of Truthful Beauty

In More Than Human Theodore Sturgeon posits the next stage of human evolution, one where those endowed with psychic powers blesh into each other in a Gestalt process where different capabilities become functions of a single living being: telekinesis for hands, telepathy for mind, teletransportation for legs, poltergeist for speech, Aspergers style awesome computational power for brain. Different organisms acting as one like the alien wolf packs of A Fire Upon The Deep, bypassing the loneliness to which they have been forced upon by the rejection of a society that fears and doesn’t understand. Yet, in becoming one, this new superevolved Gestaltic one is, once again, alone. You can’t win, heh?
Surely there is a Gestalt process going on in the superb collaboration between Pantha du Prince and Panda Bear which we are bringing to you today. It is included in the former’s new album, ‘Black Noise’, to be released by Rough Trade. Watch it unfold, a vast contemplative micro-techno Tundra landscape where every sound is like a gentle bolt of Arctic wind flowing through an invisible geometric circuit, rippling past the frosty blades of grass, branches of trees standing in a super-detailed reticle across which Panda Bear jams like Brian Eno’s drone ghost. So beautiful, yet, also, still alone and mournful. Hence its call.

We have been getting hyper excited by some cool shenanigans going on in the State of Texas. Last week it was Silver Pines, this week it is S U R V I V E. Although they are in the same record label, Light Lodge, they don’t share much except the awesomeness. Just check out Holographic Landscapes, a crawling cosmic beast of gently epic proportions, a bit like an analogue incarnation of Rustie taking a couple of notes from Eduard Artemiev’s poetic account of a supernova imploding upon itself in a storm of strobe lights which are but morse signals from God’s ship as it sails across the empty black sludge of space, annotations in a sheet music for a jam bound to send Astronomers all over the planet into a frenzy of air keyboard slapping and knob twiddling.

It could be possible that my true origins and current headquarters exist beneath the shining Lone Star as well, but I’m concerned that dangerous forces may begin to pinpoint all of their efforts on one geographical location after this thread.
Remember the Alamo!
