Digits helped us close out 2009 and just over a year later they help us open 2011 with more gorgeously constructed pop music. Which also functions as ample proof that not all resurrections are bloody.
Lost Dream is all minimal, reverb heavy, synth-pop. The echoes of handclaps circling and decaying as a skittish drum machine thumps the cold blue ground. The bridge seemingly constructed from a hazy memory of Filter House and cast in blue-fringed neon. The doubled male vocal of the chorus — a tape-slowed sibling to Natasha’s still incredible So Sick — rounds out the audible mirror of the artwork above.
20JFG will be back to full strength next week.
this could really, really grow on me. it’s one of those subtle, slip under your skin tracks. i like the less obvious stuff that does this to you. yeah, i could dig this. :)

Music is subjective to an extent. But this blog truly converts the inhuman task of sifting through the world’s best music before anyone knows about it into the simple click of a button.
May this site never perish, even after it becomes irrelevant – the day when we begin to download emotions directly into our brains.

oh hell yesss, great tune! perfectly balanced and discreet. it has this scandinavian chill to it that I’ve always been interested in, it definitely borrows more from swedish electronic tradition than canadian. I don’t understand how a sound can have a temperature, but the apathy of the soft vocals (like norway’s erlend øye) and the selection of synthesizers gives this track that northern european subtle freezing atmosphere. coming from a warmer country, I have always been digging the icey vibes ever since I first heard sweden’s radio dept., and this is right up my alley. reminds me of some of the other chilly scandinavian sounds that are floating around these days.
