Like some drumless-techno-titan stalking the sand blasted bazaars of a near-future, eastern city, You Ain’t Reeling reveals itself. Played out on an Indian Harmonium and fed through the requisite nest of effects — be they tape or pedal — we’re gifted what sounds, to all the world, like the intro to some club-banging-beast. The drones soon dissuade you of that though. This is a coronation played out in shadows, light only fleetingly able to penetrate the stone and wood that constrains the titan’s progress up the aisle. Until, with the sun dancing on the dusty shards of light that blink on and off, the whole scene fades away into black volcanic dust and industrial night.
Mind Over Mirrors – You Ain’t Reeling
You Ain’t Reeling is taken from Mind Over Mirrors’ album The Voice Rolling — which is out very soon on the ever wonderful Digitalis. We promised more coverage and as long as they continue to provide us with fertile ground with which to project our dreamscapes upon…then we’ll deliver.

Another time and another space.
Ekoplekz also borrows some tropes from an entrenched genre (dub) and squelches them down into a watery rhythm. Like our titan above, he also invokes a ceremonial atmosphere with long, beautiful drones. Yet under (or above) these layers of sound a celestial, synthetic maudlin melody drifts and shapes the world around it. As the Radiophonic rhythm lays the primordial foundations for great cities, the soaring melody views the scene unfold below — a Mann-like gaze over the seething fog of Solaris.
Ekoplekz – Ferry Cross The Severn
Ferry Cross the Severn is taken from the epic double tape release Memowrekz which is now sadly out of print.
