Like the hammering of some incensed neighbour, Ruby Ridge begin thumping their way through Love Under Will, the second track from their self release EP Exolinguistics.
A dirge of synths soon joins our vengeful neighbour — no doubt driven to a jealous rage by the sheer aural quality projected from Ruby Ridge’s modestly Gothic mansion. Restless and beautiful these synths rise in ghostly waves underneath the pounding; enveloping it and making each thud a kiss upon the portal to their world.
John Bittrich’s voice appears now, channelling some Nietzsche-ian love song. Inversions of romantic tropes abound, swirling and kicking at you while managing to strangely coo, in a Folk-y Siren kinda’ way. There is some celestial horror here, buried within the crystalline boot of Ruby Ridge, stamping on a heart, forever.
Ruby Ridge‘s EP Exolinguistics is available from their Bandcamp now.

voice like from deep within the haze of a digital forest.
