Dinosaur on Fire’s Sleep Moon Voyage is undoubtedly one of the 2012 album’s that has chimed and echoed most across 20JFG’s glittering, Moebius inspired spires. When he first contacted us, he described it as ‘a reflection on how it feels to beat a video game as a child, experiencing the perils of endgame dungeons and the euphoric relief of finally setting the controller down in victory.’
Sure it is that, and more. It also feels like the discovery of infinite worlds out there.
We then asked him if he’d put together a mixtape for us, possibly with a sci-fi theme. We now have it; in his words:
“I tried to select some songs that quite obviously have sci-fi influences, and others that have science-fiction undertones, at least to my ears. And I tried to pick songs that weren’t too wildly dissimilar, but unique enough that it doesn’t become boring (hopefully). It is an hour long, but the subject matter seemed to demand an epic scope.”
Epic indeed. There are aeons in there, this is so beautiful.
