You might have noticed that in the past weeks we have posted tunes only for streaming. This is the case today, but no more. We have decided that our policy from now on will be to post songs only as mp3 for download. Although we understand labels preferring to have tunes only for streaming, we feel that this is unfair to those other kind people who allow us to put their mp3s up. Since we’d rather not turn into a streaming-only place, we have decided to buck that trend, and continue in our tradition of making mp3s available for peeps to listen to wherever we want, as we have done for the last 5 years.

Later

Navigating the inter-molecular spaces where incomprehensible forces bind matter together can fuck you up big time.

It can turn you into an indifferent ubermensch who knowing everything cares for nothing.

Or maybe you will find it meaningful to help deliver the blind watchmaker’s master-plan by accelerating up the universe’s entropic return to the primordial darkness whence it came. In this case, you won’t waste your time building crystal palaces of fragile beauty hovering over red Martian wastelands. You will instead raise your hand like a subatomic necromancer to rearrange ferrous materials, humble grains of sand and unstable elements into a lumbering colossus which snarls and hisses like an Aztec Feathered Serpent, and bristles with the destructive power of a Pulsar.

Mr. Lee sounds like your taking this thing for its first ride, and a little bit of target practice. Radical rearrangement of alien landscapes under a black sky where even the constellations cower. Play it LOUD.

John Fell Ryan as SETH- Mr. Lee

John Fell Ryan rocks the free world in Excepter, also as SETH.

So what do you expect the true Master of All Things Dark and Epic, Steve Moore, to do with ΤΗΞ LΔΖΣ’s unbridled prog odyssey Glassdust?

Turn it into the unlikely theme tune for a Lovecraft-exploitation flick?

Hell yes.

Everything falls into place- slow mo footage captured after the apocalypse. Flowers of impossible colours blossoming through cracks in the grey concrete crushed under the feet of a group of survivors as they scavenge for food and ammunition, a decomposed society is unable to sustain the division of labour which would allow our heroes some grooming, hence the Bubblegum metal hair-styles, befitting a breath-taking arpeggiated guitar solo which soundtracks perilous climbing up the ruins of collapsed skyscrapers piled on top of each other like victims of an architectural genocide, eventual climax reached with arrival to an unsteady summit from which the extent of the devastation can finally be grasped. Imagine the sky, and listen to it.

Today we’re more than a little psyched to have the honour of premiering the phantasmagorical new video for our favourite midwestern maniacs Gatekeeper who will be releasing their Optimus Maximus EP on October 26th, courtesy of newly conjured graveyard disco label Fright, the brainchild of Kompakt’s Jon Berry and Michael Mayer which promises to be dedicated to creeping us all out with a black stream of Carpenter cathedral synth epics and Hades hi-nrg, and which should positively rule the (nether)world. The mindmelting visual sorcery was created by our hero and friend Tommy Boy, who never ceases to amaze us. Get ready to drool.

Three nightmares, for dancing in cold sweats at a seance when the moon is pulling your consciousness to dark places full of subliminal horror and nameless things that slip through the shadows:

Its Zombie Apocalypse time again at 2OJFG! But this time the doomed hero of the story is you, trapped in an abandoned building in a wasteland town, ruined by the hordes of the undead. As this song progresses through time into beatific pale-skinned calypso horror, the boney fingers of the walking corpses are outstretched to claw at the damp wood of the flimsy door that separates them from you. As sludge-disco synths crash into 80′s fuzz-guitar, they break through, silhouetted by a mysterious blue light from the hallway behind. You see the dim glint in the hungry undead eyes, hear the expectant groans from dead throats as they lunge forward, the stench of putrid flesh and liquefied entrails hits you before yellowed teeth sink in…

Dr. Dunks – Love Savage

Good luck finding this massively limited and sold out 12″ of edits from Whatever We Want Records…

(image unearthed by Tommyboy)

An alien presence created the sounds you are about to hear. It floated through a seemingly endless space until the pull of Earth bought it into our midst. Once here, it crept through the underground away from prying eyes where it could grow strong, silently amassing its collective forces until a full scale invasion of spherical flaming blue light rose from the depths to snatch away countless victims who’s brains were drained of emotion to become mere pawns in the extraterrestrial being’s dark design of slavery.

Cobra Cut – Night Prism

This beautiful piece of synth orchestration comes from Cobra Cut, who create italo disco from the 10th circle of Hell where all the disco dollies who died of coke overdoses end up.

Board up the house, for out of the shadowy miasma comes the thing. Not the horde of undead you were dreaming of before, but a dreaded new force that cannot easily be removed from existence with a simple bullet to the cranium. As the looming terror from Steve Moore’s remix of Genghis Tron strikes icicle points of fear in your heart you can hear the oozing evil squeezing through the cracks in the boards across the windows and doors, pooling on the floor in front of you, a slick black menace of misshapen damnation, it contorts into mangled sharpened talons and flies forward in a flash of blackened death.

Genghis Tron – Board Up The House (Steve Moore Remix)

Taken from Volume 1 of the new limited series of remix 12″s out on Temporary Residence Ltd – try Piccadilly Records.

————————————-

2OJFG hits New York:

It’s next week on October 14th and it’s being held at the very nice bar/art space Supreme Trading which is located at 213 N. 8th Street, just off of Bedford Ave in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. If you live in the NYC area and you want to hear the usual mix of horror soundtrack synths, feral disco, transcendental tribal noise, gold plated hummer jams, and the doomiest remix of a Britney song ever made, then by all means come down and shake bones. Dev (Lightspeed Champion) and Telepathe will be coming down to play some records too. Thank you.

It is with an apocalyptic feeling of anticipation that we await for the activation of the Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Geneva. Of course our puny brains cannot even start to elucidate the sort of physics involved in the experiments that are to be conducted there, so we have decided to think about all these portentous matters drawing on our readings on the arguably relevant fields of science fiction, video games and horror films. According to these sources, we should expect some sort of catastrophe resulting in the invasion of our planet by alien species from other dimensions (get your crowbars ready), the discovery of a parallel realm where the philotic connections underlying physical and spiritual reality lie, together with the mysteries of faster than light speed travel, or the arrival of hell to Earth, you know, lots of men pulling their eyes out and reciting mantras in latin.

All of these alternatives sound more desirable than the current state of affairs, so we do eagerly invite our laboratory coat clad stern overlords to pull that lever so that our species can achieve transcendence, either shining stronger than a budding supernova, or exploding in a gross mess of blood and viscera.

Bosons like to party you know, and whenever they have a ball it is Ron Geesin’s music that soundtracks the majestic ballet of their integer spin across infinite distances, derviches of the atomic realm in constant transmogrification between quantum states, or little dots blipping in a computerised brain to the ultra-abstract equivalent of acid house pumping psychedelia, jacking the spaces between spaces is where it’s at kids of the dance revolution.

Ron Geesin- Syncopot

These days it would seem like a trivial matter to input a few Bose-Einstein statistics in your music generator software to come up with microscopic symphonies of alien beauty to rival Black Dice’s outer space transmissions, but kid, Electrosounds was made in 1972, this synthetic sorcerer had all this stuff in HIS HEAD! He rules!

If worse comes to pass, and the activation of the Large Hadron Collider creates a micro black hole gateway between our world and outer dimensions of chaos and madness inhabited by Azazoth and his brethren, don’t bother trying to convince me to accompany you to the closest refuge, walls covered with scribblings of primeval signs, the holy ritual of the exorcism and the triforce, nay, I shall be in my room listening to the malevolent sounds of Steve Moore as the sky fills with bat-winged snakes, and thick and bristling pseudopodia cover the asphalt of the streets below like a black tide of simmering evil.

David Rubato- Circuit (Steve Moore Remix)

David Rubato’s new 12” on Institubes is rather banging, particularly the Aeroplane and Steve Moore remixes. Regarding the latter, you do of course know that the sinister mind behind the forever astonishing Zombi and the new shining star of Satanic italo grace Lovelock is perhaps the most accomplished apprentice of the dark lords Carpenter and Goblin, so you should be aware of what lurks beyond as you press play in your stereo: music to soundtrack the corridors of an abandoned hospital basement scenario of nameless experiments, music to soundtrack batallions of clouds of impossible colours advancing over the barren landscape of a mercifully forgotten nightmare, music to dance to as you spin in the carousel of the damned, beautiful death funk wiggling with a bassline that sounds like a bag full of human bones being shaken by Johnny Jewel’s and Asenath Derby Waite’s secret daughter, music that makes us smile eerily, momma always used to say we were a bit weird.
